Five of Pentacles

The five of pentacles reveals that misfortune has fallen and times are tough. Basically the bottom is falling out. But all is not lost as you can see there is help available. If the people would only look up they would see that a warm place exists that would help them.

Other resources says that this card sometimes comes up to show a fear of poverty or isolation rather than actual poverty. It also can show a fear of losing the security of home.

Symbols and Colors

Bell - The man wears a bell around his neck.  In medieval times, these were worn to warn others of a lepers. This card shows us this man is an outcast.  Can symbolize ill health or prejudice.

Red Cloak - The woman wears a red cloak.  This color indicates she will persist but has trouble seeing the possibility of change.

Church windows - The windows above them indicate a church or a safe sanctuary.  They either feel unwelcome (spiritually or physically) or are unable to lift their eyes from their dire situation to see it.

My Thoughts

Both of these definitions really seem to hit home with me right now. Not only is my family experiencing financial upheaval but we're also losing our home. Additionally, I also feel like I'm walking away from my tribe.
